Jonction opens in Dijon at the Galeries Lafayette to inaugurate its first art gallery and thus expand its cultural offering to the department store. Jonction provides a unique artistic and cultural experience by inviting renowned and upcoming artists to present original, signed, and numbered art works in a relaxed and accessible atmosphere.
Jonction positions itself as a talent discoverer, edition producer, and collection advisor, offering lithographs, silkscreens, and prints from highly acclaimed artists.
Each exhibition will feature a guest artist highlighted with a new series of multiples. Jonction is pleased to present the talented Charles de Vilmorin for this inaugural exhibition, making the leap from fashion to art through a series of six drawings that establish his style in a new artistic language.
FIRST EXHIBITION: “SUIS MOI”
The first exhibition consists of two parts: in the front of the gallery, a room dedicated to Charles de Vilmorin. In the second room, a playful display blending genres with a carefully selected variety of works by contemporary artists. "Follow Me" is an invitation to discovery, a stolen moment within an inspired exhibition that, through its diversity, invites visitors to choose their artistic tone.
This exhibition is visible until January 11, 2024, at Galeries Lafayette in Dijon.

CHARLES DE VILMORIN
Charles de Vilmorin (born in 1996) is a French stylist and couturier, a graduate of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. After a noted first haute couture collection under his name, he became the artistic director of the Rochas brand from 2020 to 2022. His eponymous brand, registered with the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, is synonymous with memorable events at each runway show. Invited to create the Christmas universe for Galeries Lafayette worldwide, which he calls "the Christmas of my Dreams," Charles is recognized for his colorful universes. This collaboration with Jonction.art is his first foray into visual arts but certainly not the last!
Charles de Vilmorin's six drawings are his first exploration of silkscreen printing. A prolific and inspired draftsman, Charles immediately embraced the process and even wished to draw each color of his silkscreens on film himself. This process, reserved only for the most seasoned artists, requires exceptional dexterity and visualization skills. Each layer is initially painted in black but will later be transcribed in color. Therefore, only the artist, with his imagination, can anticipate the final result.
"His drawings demonstrate this early taste [...]. The inspiration of his beginnings reflects the joyfully colorful universe of a Niki de Saint-Phalle," says art historian Patricia Brignone. "They testify to a flourishing world traversed by a dreamlike and baroque imagination; a world halfway between the fantastic and poisonous beauty."
Each drawing is produced in 30 signed and numbered copies on BFK Rives 270gsm and is offered at the price of EUR 450 VAT included.
